World Vision

This is a charity which is focused on helping people in poverty. It has a Christian basis, but it prides itself on providing for people of all ethnic backgrounds. It helps in emergencies, working with Government organisations to provide a rapid response and prevent future emergencies. Their work includes helping people to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami, as well as work in the Middle East, amongst others. They work against the causes of poverty as well as its effects. To add to this, they campaign on numerous issues that affect the public, and their work attempts to see through the changes that will help to remedy these problems. An example is Peace and Conflict, and Child Rights. Their website contains a section names 'Learn', which serves as an effective resource to raise awareness and inspire people to make changes.
