The Transition Network supports community‐led responses to peak oil and climate change, building resilience and happiness. It is a grass-roots led movement that has grown from a single community in 2004 to more than 200 Transition Town Initiatives in 28 countries with more than 50,000 people actively involved in 2009. Transition is about finding positive solutions that enable the creation of low carbon communities and to empower people to make a positive energy descent.
