"Grameen Alo is a registered voluntary organisation working with disadvantaged groups of people in the Bogra district of Bangladesh since 2002. Our main aim is to empower disadvantaged groups of people with the skill and knowledge to protect their rights and to develop them as respected and productive citizens. Grameen Alo is committed to following a participatory approach in establishing human rights; reducing the disability of disabled peoples and promoting the participation of women in decision making, all as a part of its program planning.

Grameen Alo is in contact with more than 1576 women and 512 peoples with disabilities on a regular basis through 52 contact points in the Bogra and Dinajpur districts. Since 2005, Grameen Alo has been providing technical and logistical support to 250 school-children with disabilities in Bogra. Grameen Alo has also initiated a new project for five years, where 150 school-children with disabilities will be able to access education. Grameen Alo is a working partner of Action Aid Bangladesh, Centre for Disability in Development and South Asia Partnership-Bangladesh."
